A simple meal, an offer of friendship, and a conversation that honors Jesus.
Acts 2 gives us a beautiful description of the early church. “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved..” The Church was never meant to be a building…but an active community of believers meeting together in a variety of different ways and contexts.
Would you like in invitation?
We’ll introduce you to a family who would love to have you in their home so that they can get to know you better.
Would you like to host a meal?
We are asking for people to volunteer as host families for this ONE weekend.. to invite a few others into their home. We will give each host family a few easy questions based on the Sunday sermon to talk about so that as we share a meal we can also be spurring one another on in our faith.
We are looking for host families that will:
- Keep the meal simple. It’s not about an elaborate meal, but authentic connection. We recommend a bowl of soup or chili. It’s easy to make ahead of time and to share with others. You can also offer some bread to break together, but you will also be doing this as you discuss God’s Word together.
- Keep the numbers small. We recommend inviting no more than two families into your home. Let the Lord guide you as to who you should ask–but try to invite at least one family that you don’t know very well or who isn’t very connected at COS yet.
- Keep the time short. The meal should fit within a two-hour time frame. We don’t want this to take your whole Sunday (or Saturday, if that works better for you).
