The Lord of the Sabbath
The Sabbath was established in creation as a gift from God, not merely a religious obligation. It follows four key principles: ending work, resting, recognizing it as blessed, and keeping it set apart. Jesus taught that the Sabbath was made for our benefit, not as a burden. When we practice Sabbath rest, we experience a preview of the eternal rest found in Christ. By intentionally setting aside time to stop work, remember God's faithfulness, and allow Jesus to be Lord of our rest, we invite His blessing into all aspects of our lives.
