Join us as we take a road trip to Columbus, Georgia. We will explore the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center, where you can learn about the history of the U.S. Army Infantry and honor the legacy of the brave soldiers who have served our country. Then we will visit the infamous Andersonville National Historic Site, the former Confederate prisoner-of-war camp where over 13, 000 men died and were buried. That afternoon we will return to Columbus to visit the National Civil War Naval Museum which houses numerous naval artifacts including a complete confederate warship.
Day #1 (Monday): Leave COS at 7:00 AM travel to Columbus, GA. Trip is about 486 miles and should take around 9 hours.
Day #2 (Tuesday): Tour the National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center in Columbus.
Day #3 (Wednesday): Tour the Andersonville National Historic Site. Return to Columbus and visit the National Civil War Naval Museum.
Day #4 (Thursday): Return home.
Cost: $285 per person, which includes 3 nights lodging with breakfast. Price does not include food, gas reimbursement to drivers, or entrance fee for Civil War Naval Museum ($10 with senior or military discount).
