Join us as we take a road trip to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and Antietam National Battlefield. Harpers Ferry witnessed the first successful American railroad, John Brown's attack on slavery, and the largest surrender of Federal troops during the Civil War. The CIvil War battle at Antietam on September 17, 1862, remains the bloodiest one-day battle in American military history.
ITINERARY:
Day #1 - Monday, May 11: Leave COS at 7:00 AM and travel to Charles Town, WV. Trip is about 495 miles and should take around 9 hours.
Day #2 - Tuesday, May 12: Tour the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park with a licensed guide for 2.5 hours, then walk through the town + lunch.
Day #3 - Wednesday, May 13: Tour the Antietam National Battlefield with a licensed guide for 4 hours. Return to Charles Town for a group dinner.
Day #4 - Thursday, May 14: Return home.
