IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Hello fellow hikers. We are starting to see some color out there and the temperature should be great for hiking! Here’s an update on the event scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The weather report shows rain coming in at 1 PM. We should be off the mountain before then.
It recently came to my attention that there is a very large festival going on in the gorge this weekend. It’s called Rocktoberfest and there’s a high probability that we will be challenged to find parking and a reasonable wait for lunch with our large group (about 20). As a result, we are moving the hike to The Pinnacles in Berea. We will still meet at the church at 8:00 and hope to leave no later than 8:30. There is ample parking at the trailhead and more available seating for lunch. In the past, we have eaten at Papaleno’s but seating is very limited and the wait times can be quite long on Saturday. Last year we tried Apollo Pizza and everyone seemed to feel that it was a good place.
I estimate that we will be on the trail no later than 10 AM and back to the parking lot by 12:30. If you opt to join us for lunch, you should still be home before 3 PM.

COS Men's Ministry invites you to come join us on an adventure as we hike the Red River Gorge. This event is open to men and women! The trail is considered moderate with steep overlooks at the top and is not recommended for small children.
We will meet at Church of the Savior at 8:00 AM and make carpool arrangements. We plan to leave COS by 8:30.
For those who are interested, we are going to have lunch at Miguel's Pizza. We should get back to the church before 3:00 PM.
