The cross of Christ accomplished far more than forgiveness - it initiated a divine exchange where everything evil due to our sin was placed on Jesus, and everything good due to His righteousness became available to us. This exchange includes life for death, blessing for curse, abundance for poverty, glory for shame, acceptance for rejection, and a new creation for the old sinful nature. Unlike Old Testament atonement that only covered sins temporarily, Christ's sacrifice completely removed them. These exchanges are already complete - we simply need to believe, confess, and thank God for what He has already provided through His perfect sacrifice.
