Faith in Hard Times
The Joy of Suffering
Suffering is not something to simply survive. It is something God uses with purpose. Philippians 1:29 reminds us that suffering has been granted to believers, not as punishment, but as part of a purposeful process. Romans 5 shows us that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance builds character, and character leads to hope. The way we handle hard seasons is often the clearest picture of the gospel that others around us will ever see. Joy is not just a feeling reserved for good times. It is a weapon and a source of strength that carries us through the darkest moments. When we allow God to dictate the terms of our suffering rather than the enemy, we position ourselves for a season of refreshing on the other side.
